According to the Law of Georgia “On Tourism,” it will become
mandatory for tourists entering Georgia to have health and accident insurance.
From January 1, 2026, when entering the territory of Georgia, a tourist
is required to carry an insurance policy in either physical or electronic form,
in Georgian or English.
The insurance policy may be issued by either a Georgian or a foreign
insurance company, and the insured amount must be no less than 30,000 GEL.
The insurance policy must include the following information:
The parties to the insurance, Covered territory, Object of insurance, Start and
end dates of the insurance, Insured risks, Amount of the insured sum (limits),
Amount of the insurance premium, as well as its place and deadline of payment.
The validity period of the insurance policy must cover the entire period
from the tourist’s entry into the country until departure.
